Solicitations

The Center for Commercialization of Advanced Technology – Southern California (CCAT-SoCal) is pleased to announce the opening of its latest solicitation.  CCAT will accept applications from industry, academic research organizations, and government laboratories beginning Monday, January 28, 2008 through Wednesday, February 27, 2008.

The solicitation features three distinct tracks including:  (1) Smart Unmanned Ground Robotics Initiative; (2) Technologies of Interest to Naval Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC); and (3) Force Health Protection.

The solicitation is seeking technologies that are beyond early-stage prototype and have been successfully tested in a relevant environment.

Awardees will be considered for one or more of the following awards and services:

• Funding for Product Development, Test, Evaluation and Integration ($75,000)
• Business Services including market studies, commercialization planning, mentoring, etc.
• Business Development Services including access to venture and angel capital investment opportunities.

Finalists will be selected based on peer review of written proposals and will be invited to give a presentation to a panel of subject matter experts in San Diego, CA or San Bernardino, CA which will be conducted on April 7, 8, 10, 2008.  Out-of-area candidates will be allowed to do either a teleconference or video conference presentation if travel to Southern California is not feasible.

Application forms can be accessed and submitted anytime beginning at 8:00 AM (PST) on Monday, January 28, 2008.  Solicitation closes at 4:00 PM (PST) on Wednesday, February 27, 2008.
