Center for Commercialization of Advanced Technology, San Diego

The Center for Commercialization of Advanced Technology (CCAT) - supported by Congress and funded by the Department of Defense - is a public-private collaborative partnership between academia, industry, and government. CCAT started as a two year program to test a new model for commercializing technology on behalf of the military and homeland defense. Its success led to extension and expansion of the program to San Bernardino. The consortium-style CCAT intends to bridge the gap that exists between the generators of technology, the Department of Defense and the commercial marketplace. CCAT is federally funded through the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Office of Naval Research (ONR)
